Healthy Habits for the Young Athlete

Finding a good recipe to prepare for game day can be hard sometimes. Here is a easy one that will provide a proper balance. Try it and enjoy.

Bowtie Surprise
Ingredients
1 package of bowtie pasta
1 pound of ground turkey or lean ground beef
3 tablespoons of olive oil
2 garlic cloves minced
1/2 cup green pepper
1/2 cup chopped onion
2 cans of diced tomatoes or 2 cups of chopped plum tomatoes
1 tablespoon of oregano
1/2 cup of parmesan cheese

Directions:
Cook pasta to package directions, drain and set aside. Brown meat and drain fat. Turn heat to medium and add oil, onion, pepper, tomatoes and oregano to skillet with meat. Saute' and stir 5 minutes. Stir in pasta with cheese and serve.
