Coach Israel

Favorite food: Steak w/portabello mushrooms

Favorite TV show: The Soprano's

Favorite song: Simple Man by Lynyrd Skynryd

Favorite thing to do, not including baseball: Hang out at the beach

What did you want to be before you grew up? I simply wanted to be a ballplayer. (Basketball or Baseball)

Favorite MLB team: San Diego Padres

Favorite MLB player: Khalil Green

Best part about being a Padre? The best part of being a Padre is seeing kids, parents and coaches come together and share something special that we can always look back on and be proud that we were part of it.

What inspires you to coach? There are many things that inspire me to coach. One thing that inspires me is the opportunity I have to share my passion and love for the game of baseball with these boys, one of them being my son. And having this inspires me everyday to give not only my son, but all of these boys the best opportunity possible to succeed in the game of baseball.

What's the most important thing for padre players to learn from you? The most important thing these players can learn from me is the drive and the confidence to be the best you can be in everything you do, no matter what may stand in your way.

To Coach Israel and all of his assistant coaches:

We, (Radford and Tina Covan) are privileged to have you all as Brandon's coaches this year. We wish Brandon could have you all as his coaches for years to come; however, he is a year younger than the rest of the players. Brandon has had so much fun and learning experiences already this year; unlike two years of his baseball "career". He loves his coaches and his teammates. Hopefully, in years to come, you all can coach him more, at least until High School. We appreciate you all very much!!!!!!!!! Tina and Radford Covan

Israel,

The privilege that I have been blessed with not to merely to just have met you but have become friends and fellow coaches with has brought me nothing but joy. You are a person, though a few years younger than me, that I enjoy being around and respect, not only because of whom you are but what you stand for and the way that you are able to teach these boys the game of baseball and the integrity in life that will carry them forward as repectful young men. I look forward to learning to be a better coach and friend for many years to come in hopes that one day I too will have the potential to be a head coach and a good friend. Keep up the great work as you are a FISHER OF MEN!

NO FEAR!
