Healthy Habits for the Young Athlete

"The story goes that a pizza parlor waitress asked Yogi Berra whether he wanted his pizza cut into six or eight slices. "Six, please," he said. "No way am I hungry enough to eat eight."

Kids love pizza and so do we. Splurge every now and then on this guilty pleasure. What are some ways that you can make pizza a healthier option for both yourself and your child?
Here are some great tips.

Don't order pizza, make your own and have your chidren help out. Most children love to help out in the kitchen.

If you prefer to order out choose thin crust instead of thick, don't ask for extra cheese and request canadian bacon for a leaner meat option.

When making a pizza at home layer it with vegtables, use a whole grain crust and low fat cheeses like mozerella, feta, parmesean and romano.

Rememer to enjoy all foods in moderation and remember there are always ways to make the tasty food choices a little bit healthier and tastier.
